MANILA, Philippines – Two passengers were recently accosted by airport authorities for possessing ammunition, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) said Friday.
OTS identified the waylaid passengers as Joseph Theodore Atila and Spark Pableo.
Atila was intercepted last January 30 at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport while passing through security screening, according to OTS. Authorities seized eight pieces of suspected live ammunition from Atila.
OTS said Atila was not able to provide the required papers for the ammunition, thus, “was endorsed to the law enforcement officer for proper disposition.”
Meanwhile, OTS said Manila-bound Pableo was intercepted last January 31 at the Dipolog Airport as security screening personnel saw his sling bag containing two live ammunition of Caliber .22 and two pieces of empty shell of Caliber .45.
Following documentation process, authorities turned over the confiscated items to law enforcement officers, and Pableo was eventually allowed to continue with his flight. /kga
