SAN PABLO, ISABELA — Family members and supporters of murdered National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) consultant Randy Malayao started gathering at the San Pablo Cathedral for the necrological services and a funeral march.
Malayao will be buried at the San Pablo Cemetery later today.
About 1,000 people, including Isabela farmers, marched from Malayao’s ancestral house in Barangay Minanga to the church for a Mass.
The farmers carried streamers with the message, “Justice for Randy Malayao.”
A marching band played as Malayao’s remains were brought to the church.
Minanga Elementary School pupils waited in front of their school to throw flowers as Malayao’s casket passed by.
His neighbors also waited at the sidewalk to pay tribute to Malayao.
Malayao was gunned down inside a bus in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya on Jan. 30 by a still unidentified gunman.
