Robberies

A WOMAN and a group of three men yesterday lost their cell phones in  separate holdups in  Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City.

Jeffry Tano, 17; Merchandel Macasero, 20; and Noel Heredia, 18, were on their way home  from a dance in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City, early yesterday morning when eight men armed with knives robbed them of their cell phones.

In barangay Basak, Mandaue City,  past  4 a.m. , three motorcycle-riding men took Elsie Ariola’s two cell phones.

TWO motorcycle-riding men shot dead an ex-convict  in barangay Saragosa, Aloguinsan town, western Cebu, on Sunday.

Police said Ambrosio Banosa, who earlier lost a bet in a cockfight,  fired shots in the air after nobody gave him money to pay his  debts.

CEBU City Fire Marshal Aderson Comar was promoted to senior superintendent yesterday.

Senior Supt. Maria Luisa Adjula, regional director of the Bureau of Fire and Penology (BFP), said that with this promotion, Comar is qualified to hold higher positions.

Adjula earlier said that  Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo  requested to promote Comar to regional director for operation in Central Visayas.
