CABANATUAN CITY — A suspected drug pusher from Licab, Nueva Ecija was killed in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, police said.
Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief, said Jojo Galang, 44, engaged policemen in a shootout in Barangay Bitas here at 1:25 a.m.
Zafra said the suspect fired a .38-caliber revolver at a policeman who acted as a drug buyer.
Police retaliated and shot the suspect who died instantly.
Investigators recovered the suspect’s gun loaded with bullets, 15 small packs of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth), the P500 marked money and an Asian utility vehicle. Armand Galang/lzb
