Comelec ready for Feb. 6 BOL plebiscite
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is ready to distribute the election paraphernalia for the second round of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite, the poll body said Tuesday.
Dir. Frances Arabe, Special Monitoring Team Over-all Head, said all election forms and supplies for the February 6 plebiscite in Lanao del Norte and North Cotabato “have been duly allocated and checked for completeness.”
“Nine barangays of Tulunan, North Cotabato have been scheduled for early distribution of plebiscite paraphernalia today, 5 February 2019, for the #BangsamoroPlebiscite,” Arabe said.
She explained that some areas are too far and difficult to reach or the peace and order condition is unstable; hence, the early delivery.
The remaining election materials, meanwhile, will be released on Tuesday, plebiscite day, as early as 3 a.m.
Around 639,361 registered voters are expected to participate in the second round of the plebiscite. The poll body said it expects a voter turnout higher than 75 percent. /ee
