MANILA, Philippines – A 63-year-old man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly tried to pimp two women to an undercover policeman during an entrapment operation outside a hotel in Naga City.

Police arrested Jose Cecilio after he had a deal with the undercover agent who agreed to pay him in exchange for sexual service with an alias Zharie and Emma, both 21 years old.

Police said they received a tip that human trafficking was rampant in the area, prompting the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Camarines Sur and operatives of the Naga City Police Station to launch the entrapment operation.

During the arrest, police confiscated from the man the entrapment cash worth P500 and boodle money worth P6,000.

A case in violation of the Republic Act 9208 amended by Republic Act 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act will be filed against Cecilio, who was brought to the CIDG office in Camarines Sur.

Police said the victims were assisted by the local social welfare and development office. /cbb
