Two dead in Kabacan, North Cotabato in a span of 4 days

KABACAN, North Cotabato — At least two persons were killed in a span of four days here by unidentified gunmen, police said.

The Kabacan town police reported that one Mautin Dimalin Yusop  was walking home in Barangay Kayaga, Kabacan, North Cotabato when shot by unidentified gunmen at 8:05 a.m. on Sunday.

Responding policemen from the Kabacan municipal police station recovered from the scene a piece of fired cartridge of a .45 caliber pistol and two pieces of fired cartridge of a .9 mm pistol.

Police said the suspects immediately fled towards the direction of the adjacent town of Carmen.

On January 30 at 6:45 a. m., a certain Mansori Mantapid Sidik, 38,  a resident of Barangay Bagoinged, Pagalungan, Maguindanao, was shot dead by an unidentified gunman while the victim was driving his Honda XRM motorcycle along Abellera Street at the Poblacion here.

Police recovered from the possession of the victim several pieces of heat-sealed plastic transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Investigations are still ongoing to identify the suspects. /ee
