MANILA, Philippines — In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Feb. 5 has been declared a special non-working holiday, according to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

“February 5, 2019, Tuesday, is declared as a special non-working holiday all over the country in observance of the Chinese New Year,” the PIA announced in a tweet on Monday.
The announcement also reminded employers to pay right wages for employees who will render work during the special non-working holiday.
“Employers are once again reminded to pay the right wages of their employees, especially those who will work on this day,” PIA said. /cbb
