CAFGU member, 5 others arrested in QC buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — A Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member and five others were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City early Sunday.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel Jr. identified the suspects as Raffy Maglaque, 28, a CAFGU member; Ryan Maglaque, 30; Sonny Mansano, 45; Jayson Jolo-an, 19; and two minors aged 16 and 17 years old.

The suspects were newly identified drug personalities and all residents of Brgy. Commonwealth in Quezon City.

According to the police report, operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) operatives of the Batasan Police Station arrested the suspects in a buy-bust operation along San Pedro St., Brgy. Commonwealth at around 1:30 a.m.

The suspects were arrested after a police poseur-buyer bought P200 worth of shabu from Maglaque.

Four more sachets were seized from Maglaque while the other five each yielded one sachet of shabu.

The suspects face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Authorities said that the two minors were turned over to the Social Services and Development Department (SSDD) in Quezon City for appropriate intervention./je
