SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines – Two men were killed in a reported shootout after allegedly refusing to stop at a police checkpoint in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province early on Sunday.
The police, in an initial report, have yet to identify the two slain men.
According to the police, they were conducting an election checkpoint in Barangay (village) Salawag at about 1 a.m. when the men, riding in tandem on a motorcycle drove by.
Instead of stopping for inspection, the duo allegedly drove by.
The police geared up for a chase but the two reportedly opened fire prompting the police to shoot back. /cbb
