‘Rooster’ President gets feng shui advice

The Year of the Earth Pig is bound to be a challenging time for President Rodrigo Duterte, whose popularity may dip because of the presence of some “inauspicious” stars in his chart.

Feng shui master Joey Yap said that the President, 73, who was born in the Year of the Rooster, “carries a rather high number of inauspicious stars, which means lower public perception. If strictly based on popularity, 2019 is going to be an uphill battle [for him].”

But the President’s astrological chart also shows that he will be visited by the General Star and the Three Stages, a strong star that will help him take command as Chief Executive and further increase his stature.

These two stars are accompanied by the Nobleman, Heavenly Virtue and Sky Gracious stars that will all help him in solving problems that come with his lofty position, Yap added.

Need for strong Earth energy

However, while the President will be “rather supported” by these stars in the Year of the Earth Pig, all the positive outcomes are happening behind the scene, much like a talented actor acknowledged by peers but whose value is hidden from the public, the feng shui master said.

“[The President] needs to borrow the strong Earth energy of the year to make his capability more apparent to the public,” considering that the Philippines and the rest of the world will see an even faster pace of change and turbulence in the global economy, Yap said.

“The big story for 2019 is likely how to manage the continued expansion and pace of inevitable change,” he added.

In contrast to the President’s challenging year ahead, Vice President Leni Robredo is in for an easier time as her chart shows wood and fire elements that will enhance her energy in 2019, Yap said.

The presence of the fire element means that Robredo, born under the Year of the Snake, will find it less difficult to gather support for her plans and programs from people who share her ideals.

Her auspicious stars

Yap said the auspicious stars in Robredo’s chart included the Elegance Seal and the Red Matchmaker, which promise to increase her “charm and attraction.”

The Sky Horse, meanwhile, will help carry her message to a wider audience here and abroad. The ease with which such messages travel means that she will be able to “garner support widely.”

At the same time, however, Robredo’s chart shows the presence of the Snake sign, which will clash with the Pig in 2019, signaling a likely significant change in her usual support base.

“If she remains with the same general supporters, then her popularity might not improve. Having a more drastic and different stance will help, as she needs to widen her reach and not be complacent with what is already existing,” Yap said.

Bongbong’s chart

He suggests that Robredo “venture out of her comfort zone” and consider new approaches to her work as Vice President as she seeks to widen her support base.

“Approaching a wider audience will be a key activity in 2019. Travel the road less traveled, leave a path for others,” Yap advised Robredo.

As for 61-year-old Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., with whom Robredo is still locked in an electoral dispute, his chart is not so positive.

Marcos’ chart shows a predominant metal element, which has “one of the lower energy levels in 2019,” a signal that help and support for him in the Year of the Earth Pig will be “scarce,” Yap said.

Combined with the presence of a high water energy, which means increased activity, Marcos then faces a situation “where there’s much work that needs to be done, but it has to be done by him with little external help.”
