PNP insisting Arroyo travel by chopper–spokesperson

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police is insisting that former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo travel by air, her spokesman said Friday.

In a press briefing Friday, Elena Bautista-Horn said a helicopter that would take Arroyo to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center from St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig has arrived.

Horn said that Arroyo was awake since 5 a.m. waiting to be picked up. She is feeling stressed from waiting.

Elena said they hoped that the  PNP was not delaying the VMMC transfer as a ploy to allow anti-Arroyo rallyists to come out to stage their own mass action.
