A brief and energetic video was recently featured on the Facebook page of Gov. Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, who is running for vice governor in the May 2019 elections, with running mate Rep. Rodito Albano, who is running for governor.
The video captures key highlights of the latest Bambanti Festival held Jan. 24, 2019.
The word “bambanti” means “scarecrow” in the local dialect, and in fact, the video features the moment the province of Isabela achieved the Guinness World Records of the largest number of people dressed as scarecrows for the event.
“You are officially amazing,” the Guinness BWR adjudicator is heard saying in the video.
The video features high altitude drone shots of the immense festival grounds, parades, and crowds in attendance.
There are also various cuts to on ground activities featuring favorite Isabeleño cuisine and delicacies, as well as exhibits in the Bambanti Village which celebrates diverse aspects of the local culture and history.
Dy is also seen on stage with present Vice Gov. Tonypet Albano.
Dy can be heard exclaiming to the crowd: “We can clearly see how many are here, how joyful are the people of Isabela.” /atm
