MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed retired police general Gilbert Sosa as the new Assistant Secretary of his office.
Duterte signed Sosa’s appointment paper on Tuesday. A copy of the said document was shared to the media on Thursday.
Prior to his appointment, Sosa served as chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) Northern Luzon. He also served the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) chief.
Sosa retired from service last August 2018.
Duterte also nominated former Manila congressman and lawyer Ramon Bagatsing Jr. as Ambassador to India, while Noe Wong, who served as Ambassador to Cambodia, was nominated Ambassador to South Korea. /je
