CEBUANO Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino has a chance to boost his current rankings after he continued to advance in the ongoing 2nd Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Tournament in Metro Manila.
The third-seed Pantino arranged a titular match in the 12-under category against Marcus del Rosario after an impressive 6-0, 6-0 routing of Norman Gaspar in the semifinals.
Pantino’s luck continued to shine in the 14-under category, where he bagged a semifinals ticket.
Seeded fifth in the category, Pantino dismissed Xenon Gonzales, 6-2, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.
Gonzales advanced via a 7-5, 7-6 win over Tomas Puno in the second round. Pantino will go up against Mikio Shimomura for a chance at the title.
Should Pantino clinch both titles, he will add 200 points each to his rankings in both age category. CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
