CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, BULACAN—Five people, three of them drug suspects, were killed during the intensified anti-criminality operation in the province on Monday, police said.
Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Norberto Ligon alias Totoy, 39, was killed after engaging policemen in a shootout during a buy-bust operation in the City of Meycauayan at 9:40 p.m.
Police said other drug suspects identified as Ariel Bunag, 22, and RJ De Leon alias Papu, were killed after firing at the authorities.
Rico Reyes, 40, and Noel Reyes, 50, both residents of Barangay Sto. Cristo in Pulilan, also fired shots at cops serving warrants of arrest against them.
Bersalauna said at least 13 alleged drug pushers were also arrested in separate buy-bust operations in the province. Carmela Reyes-Estrope/lzb
