MALITA, DAVAO OCCIDENTAL—An earthquake jolted this province thrice on Tuesday, January 29.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the first quake, of a magnitude of 3.7 hit the eastern part of Sarangani, Davao Occidental at 1:24 a.m.
The earthquake, tectonic in origin, had a depth of 216 kilometers.
Philvocs said a second 3.4 magnitude earthquake followed at 2 a.m. on the eastern part of Sarangani.
It was tectonic in origin and registered a depth of 142 kilometers.
The last earthquake of magnitude 3.4 occurred at 5:48 a.m. west of Sarangani.
