MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte visited on Monday afternoon the wrecked Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu, the blast site of the terror attack that killed at least 25 people and injured 111 others.

According to former presidential aide Christopher “Bong” Go, Duterte also visited the wake of the victims of the twin blasts that hit on Sunday during a Catholic Mass.

Duterte also held a briefing with local security officials including the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Benjamin Madrigal.

The twin explosions happened days after the plebiscite to ratify the Bangsamoro Organic Law in Mindanao was held.

Malacañang has condemned the explosion and vowed to crush the “godless criminals behind the incident.”
