MANILA, Philippines – Surigao del Norte was rocked by a magnitude 4.6 earthquake on Monday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Philvolcs said the earthquake was struck 37 kilometers southeast of the town of General Luna at 2:06 p.m.
The quake was of tectonic origin and had a depth of 11 kilometers.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks are expected. /gsg
