CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv Hataman has called for sobriety following the twin bombings that rocked Jolo, Sulu province on Sunday morning.

In an interview at the Laguindingan airport, Hataman has appealed to the people of Jolo and the rest of Sulu to remain calm.

Hataman also said the bombings were not related to the just-concluded Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite.

“I can’t see the connection. First of all, the Abu Sayyaf or the ISIS have not manifested their stand on BOL whether they are for or against it,” Hataman said, but added that only the Abu Sayyaf has the means and capacity to carry out the attack.

“Most likely, this is related to them (Abu Sayyaf),” he said. /je
