Traffic rerouted for Santo Niño procession in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District (MPD) will implement a traffic rerouting and road closure scheme during the procession of the Congregacion del Santisimo Nombre del Niño Jesus on Sunday.

The MPD Traffic Enforcement Unit announced the temporary closure of the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard to Katigbak Drive to President Quirino Avenue starting at 5:00 a.m. to noon on Jan. 27.

The closing of other roads will depend on the actual traffic situation on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the MPD suggested that motorists take the following alternative routes:

  • All vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive bound for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard — turn left to P. Burgos
  • All vehicles coming from Jones, McArthur, or Quezon bridges bound for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard — go straight to Taft Avenue
  • All vehicles traveling on the westbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue — turn right to Bonifacio Drive or make a U-turn to the eastbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue
  • All vehicles traveling on the westbound lane of TM Kalaw Street and headed for Roxas Boulevard — turn left to M.H. del Pilar Street
  • All vehicles traveling on the westbound lane of U.N. Avenue going to Roxas Boulevard — turn left to M.H. del Pilar Street or use Roxas Boulevard service road
  • All vehicles traveling on the westbound lane of President Quirino Avenue headed for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard — turn left to Adriatico Street
  • All vehicles traveling on the westbound lane of P. Ocampo (Vito Cruz) Street headed for the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard — turn left to F.B. Harrison Street
  • All vehicles going to and from Manila Ocean Park or H20 Hotel and Manila Hotel — use Katigbak Drive as the access road
