Pagasa: Tail-end of cold front to bring rain, cloudy skies over Mindanao, Leyte

MANILA, Philippines — The tail-end of a cold front will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region and the island of Leyte, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said residents in the affected areas should brace for possible flash floods and landslides due to scattered light to heavy rain.

Meanwhile, the state bureau said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will be affecting the  Cagayan Valley Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, the Bicol Region and rest of Eastern Visayas.

Pagasa added that cloudy skies with light rain will also be felt in the areas affected by the “amihan.”

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and  Visayas meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain, also due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain caused by localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.  /muf
