MANILA, Philippines — Carrying placards displaying messages like “stop the killings” and “the Church cannot be silent,” various religious groups gathered in Manila on Friday to pray for “One Faith, One Nation, One Justice in the Philippines.”

Priests, nuns, missionaries, seminarians and members of evangelical churches such as the National Council of the Philippines, United Church of Christ in the Philippines and Methodist Church of the Philippines participated in the gathering at the Rajah Sulayman Plaza in Malate, Manila.

The gathering, which is ongoing as of this posting, will also conduct sharing of prayers for truth, justice and peace in light of issues in the Philippines such as drug war killings, poverty and lowering the age of criminal liability.
