MANILA, Philippines – The National Plebiscite Board of Canvass (NPBOC) officially declared on Friday that voters in Cotabato City agreed to the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL)  after a discrepancy issue.

The NPBOC said that 36,682 voted in favor of the BOL while 24,994 voted against it, based on the tally of  the audit and tabulation panel.

A discrepancy issue earlier gripped the city after the number of voters and the actual votes did not tally in the certificate of canvass and in the summary of votes.

The NPBOC ruled that that data on the number of voters in Cotabato is a ‘formal defect’,  meaning it would not have an effect on the BOL plebiscite results. / gsg
