DID YOU KNOW: 117th birth anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Pablo Antonio
Today, Jan. 25, is the 117th birth anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Pablo Antonio.
Born in 1902 in Binondo, Manila, he is known for designing the Far Eastern University administration and science buildings, Manila Polo Club and Galaxy Theater on Rizal Avenue.
In 1971, he received the Patnubay ng Sining at Kalinangan Award from the City of Manila.
In 1972, he was conferred the Republic Cultural Heritage Award. He died on June 14, 1975, and was posthumously named National Artist in 1976. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
