Carnapping suspect busted in Pasay
MANILA, Philippines – A car theft suspect was arrested by the police in Pasay City after he allegedly lent the car of the complainants to casino financiers.
Operatives from the Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU) National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), armed with a warrant of arrest, apprehended Emiliano Adrineda Jr. along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.
Koji Quiambao Espina earlier sought police assistance for the arrest of Adrineda.
Adrineda has a pending warrant of arrest for a complaint filed by Espina’s aunt.
Investigation showed that Espina and his aunt entrusted their Toyota Vios to Adrineda to be used for a ride hailing app service, but the car was instead lent by the accused to financiers of a casino in Pasay. /gsg
