4 robbery suspects gunned down in QC

MANILA, Philippines – Four robbery suspects were killed in separate police encounters in Quezon City.

In Barangay Holy Spirit, elements of the Batasan police station shot and killed two of four suspects who robbed a convenience store along Sto. Niño at around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday.

Authorities said the two still unidentified fatalities opened fire at responding police officers, who were prompted to return fire.

The two other suspects fled on foot.

Recovered from the scene of the shootout were two firearms, ammunition and 12 sachets of shabu.

In Barangay UP campus, two unidentified members of the so-called Basag-Kotse gang were also shot and killed after engaging pursuing police officers to a shootout Wednesday night.

Police said the suspects earlier smashed the window of a vehicle and took away a laptop computer.

Recovered from the slain suspects were two firearms, ammunition four sachets of shabu and the stolen laptop computer./ gsg
