Drug suspect arrested in Quezon City buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — A 22-year-old drug suspect was arrested by police operatives during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Police said P60,000 worth of suspected dried marijuana leaves were seized from him.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as Alexander Jhon Morales, a resident of Maningning St. in Barangay Gulod in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Authorities from the Novaliches Police Station arrested Morales in a buy-bust operation around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday (January 22).

Police said one  brick of suspected marijuana leaves, one  transparent plastic sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves, which in total weighed 500 grams amounting to P60,000, were seized from Morales.

Also confiscated from him were a pink coin purse, a  brown paper bag, one marked five hundred peso bill used in the the buy-bust, another five hundred peso bill, and 15 pieces of one thousand peso bill boodle money.

The suspect is currently detained at the Novaliches Police Station for proper disposition pending the filling of appropriate charges in court. /ee
