Twin quakes hit off Davao Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — Two earthquakes jolted Davao Occidental Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The first and stronger earthquake measured magnitude 5.1 and hit 249 kilometers (km) southeast of the town of Sarangani at 12:47 a.m.

According to Philvolcs, the quake of tectonic had a depth of 35 km.
Another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 hit 267 km of the same town at 1:37 a.m. Also of tectonic origin, it had a depth of 33 km.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks or damage could be expected from the earthquake. /cbb
