Pagasa: Moderate to heavy rains in Visayas due to ‘Amang’
MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rains will continue in parts of Visayas as Tropical Depression “Amang” remained over the eastern seaboard of Eastern Samar.
Signal No. 1 was raised over Sorsogon and Masbate including Ticao Island Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, and Leyte, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said midday Monday.
Bicol region will also experience moderate to heavy rains.
Amang was last spotted 40 kilometers north northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, maintaining its strength of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 60 kph.
It moved northward at 10 kph.
Amang is expected to weaken into a low pressure area in the next 24 hours.
