Grenade found near school in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY—Army bomb experts detonated a fragmentation grenade left unattended along a pathway leading to a national high school in Barangay Rosary Heights 1 early today, hours after two blasts rocked the home of a municipal judge here.

A certain Mr. Magbanua told reporters he found the grenade as he walked past a roadside store at 7 a.m.  He alerted the village watchmen, who reported it to the police.

The grenade was found about 100 meters away from the Cotabato City police office located at PC Hill, Cotabato City.

Bomb experts put around it several sandbags to cushion the impact of the explosion.

At past 9 p.m. Sunday, two grenades were tossed inside the residential compound of Judge Angelito Rasalan of Upi Municipal Circuit Trial Court.
