Cebu suspends sea travel to areas affected by ‘Amang’

MANILA, Philippines – Interisland trips from Cebu were called off Monday morning due to the threat posed by Tropical Depression ‘Amang’ to the Visayas.

Citing information from the Cebu Ports Authority, the Department of Transportation said that following trips from the province of Cebu were suspended as early as 5:51 a.m.

  • Biliran
  • Leyte
  • Southern Leyte
  • Eastern Bohol
  • Northern Cebu
  • Ormoc
  • Camotes

The northern section of Cebu has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 1 by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Fisherfolk and those with small seacraft are already advised not to venture out due to the threat of Amang. /cbb
