DOTr suspends 12 emission testing centers for falsifying results

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered the suspension of 10 Private Emission Testing Centers (PETCs) for falsification of emission test results.

In an advisory on Friday, the DOTr, through its Investigation Security and Law Enforcement Staff (ISLES), issued the preliminary suspension order of the following PETCs on Jan. 17:

1.) Wealth Emission Test Center – 6 Araneta Ave., Brgy. Potrero, 1475, Malabon City

7.) EE Casco Emission – Gajo, Tiwi, 4513, Albay

The DOTr said the suspension order is effective for 90 days.

Copies of the suspension order were also served to the PETC IT Service Provider, which will also be subject to the same penalties if it disregards the suspension order by continuing to process any data transmitted by such PETCs. /jpv
