DPWH: Weekend roadworks in parts of NCR set

MANILA, Philippines –  The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be conducting road repairs and reblocking starting on Friday (Jan. 18) until Monday (Jan. 21), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Friday.

In an advisory, the MMDA advised motorists to use alternative routes and avoid the following areas from 11 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. Monday:

Southbound:

1.) C-5 Road before the approach of Pasig Blvd., C-5 flyover

2.) C-5 Road in front of SM Aura

3.) Edsa after Lagarian Creek to Ernie Garcia (beside the MRT)

Northbound:

4.) Edsa after Oliveros Street (2nd lane from the sidewalk)

5.) MacArthur Highway Caloocan City (southbound) corner Calle Cuatro Mindanao Avenue, Valenzuela City (northbound) from P. Dela Cruz to NLEX

6.) Batasan Road before Payatas Road (1st lane)

Aside from the DPWH, the Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Globe Telecom will be conducting road restorations and concreting works in the following areas:

1.) Mindanao Ave. (southbound) from Socorro St. to Mindanao Ave. (1st lane from the sidewalk)

2.) Quezon City along Commonwealth Avenue corner Soliven St., Litex and Riverside, Brgy. Commonwealth

The MMDA ensured the public that all affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday. /gsg
