MANILA, Philippines — One person was hurt in a fire that gutted five houses in Quezon City on Thursday afternoon, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.
The BFP said Nelia Rivera, 40, was injured in the fire that struck a residential area along the NIA Road in Brgy. Pinyahan in Quezon City.
According to the BFP, the fire started at 12:20 p.m. and reached the second alarm after seven minutes.
The fire was declared extinguished at 1:16 p.m.
In an initial report, the BFP said 10 families were affected by the fire that also left at least P50,000 in damages.
As of posting, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire. /muf
