CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The Office of the Ombudsman has reinstated Concepcion Mayor Andres Lacson of Tarlac province, after it set aside his 6-month suspension over two administrative complaints that have been dismissed.
In a consolidated Jan. 8 order signed by Ombudsman Samuel Martires, which was released here on Wednesday (Jan. 16), the agency ruled that charges of abuse of authority and oppression filed by municipal employee Anne Lorenzo against the mayor “lacked merit.”
Lorenzo, chief of the Concepcion General Services Office, complained that Lacson tasked her to perform the additional function of municipal disaster risk reduction management officer, without additional pay.
The Ombudsman earlier dismissed three administrative cases and four criminal cases filed by Lorenzo against Lacson./lzb
