Alleged ‘hit man’ gunned down in Quezon
LUCENA CITY—An alleged gun-for-hire was shot and killed by a still unidentified assailant in Tiaong town in Quezon province shortly before midnight Wednesday, police said.
A Quezon police report said Leo Monares, 33, was driving his tricycle in Barangay (village) Lumingon around 11:20 p.m. when the gunman suddenly appeared and shot him twice on his head, killing him instantly.
Investigators said the victim was allegedly involved in gun-for-hire activities and had a warrant of arrest for murder issued by a court in Rosario, Batangas.
