Village watchman gunned down in Pangasinan

MANILA, Philippines — A village watchman was gunned down by two suspects in Calasiao town in Pangasinan Wednesday night, police said.

Superintendent Gerry Roxas, spokesman for the Pangasinan police, said that Ambunao village watchman Roberto Ramos, 43, was on his way home from the Calasiao town cockpit arena at around 7:30 p.m. when he was shot by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects in San Miguel village, Calasiao town.

Ramos died on the spot after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in his body, said Roxas.

The suspects, who fled after the crime, were described to have been wearing black clothes and helmets, and drove a black motorcycle.

Roxas said that Calasiao police were investigating the incident has launched pursuit operations to apprehend the village watchman’s killers.
