MANILA, Philippines — Three individuals died after a fire engulfed a two-story house in Sampaloc, Manila on Tuesday morning, the Manila Fire District (MFD) said.
The victims were identified as Lynrose Valentin, 50; Jordan Valentin, 26; and Genry Tropicales, 17.
Senior Fire Inspector Reden Alumno told INQUIRER.net that the three victims were trapped on the second floor of the house when it caught fire.
The house was located on Doña Maria St. in Sampaloc, Manila.
Alumno said only one of the residents, identified as 19-year-old Roselyn Salcedo, managed to escape the burning house.
Alumno said the blaze, which originated at the ceiling of the ground floor, started at about 6:17 a.m. and was declared out at 6:47 a.m.
The fire did not reach any fire alarms.
The MFD is still investigating the cause of the fire while investigators are still establishing the cost of damage rendered to properties. /jpv
