Hundreds call for fair, honest, peaceful #Eleksyon2019
MANILA, Philippines — Hundreds joined a unity walk, interfaith rally and covenant signing activity at the Quezon Memorial Circle on Sunday morning to mark the start of the election period for the May 2019 polls.
Organizers and participants called for a clean and honest #Eleksyon2019.
In attendance were senatorial candidates of the opposition, among them Sen. Bam Aquino, Magdalo Party-list Rep. Gary Alejano, lawyers Chel Diokno and Erin Tañada and woman’s rights advocate Samira Gutoc.
Former Assistant Presidential Communication Secretary Mocha Uson, the first nominee of AA-Kasosyo party-list, former Interior and Local Government Secretary Rafael Alunan III, and the representatives of other party-list groups were also present.
Members from the Commission of Elections (Comelec), the Philippine National Police, and other government agencies also attended the event.
