SUBIC, Zambales—The suspected leader of a Zambales drug trafficking group was killed during a Friday shootout (Jan 11) with the police.

Ali Nali resisted arrest and fired at arresting policemen, triggering the gun battle at Barangay (village) Calapacuan here that claimed his life.

Nali reportedly heads the Karansang Drug Group and has been implicated in murder and gunrunning cases in Central Luzon.

Police also arrested the crime group’s members – Aiza Sally, 28, and Rolando Delos Santos, 39 – who possessed two grenades, a shotgun, seven sachets of what could be shabu (crystal meth) and cash amounting to P14,000. JOANNA ROSE AGLIBOT/lzb
