3 dead in separate Pangasinan road mishaps

DAGUPAN CITY—Two motorcycle riders died in separate accidents in Pangasinan province on Friday night (Jan. 11), police said.

At 7:45 p.m. in Malasiqui town, a motorcycle driven by Jasper John Furio, 21, collapsed when he tried to avoid a stray dog along Calbueg village. He was injured in the crash, while his father, Nelson Furio, 41, who was his back rider, was declared dead on arrival at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital.

Both father and son were not wearing helmets, police said.

At 11:55 p.m. in Sta. Barbara town, Joseph Gutierrez Alvaro, 20, was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a pick-up truck driven by Mark Angelo Santos Magleo, 33, after it overtook another vehicle along the national road of Banaoang village.
