2 drug ‘pushers’ slain in Laguna
SAN PEDRO CITY-Two suspected illegal drug pushers were killed in separate police operations, in Cabuyao and San Pablo cities in Laguna province on Saturday, according to a text message of Laguna police chief Sr. Supt. Eleazar Matta.
In Cabuyao, police conducted a buy-bust operation against suspect Jeffrey Orofil in Barangay (village) Banay-banay around 3 a.m. Orofil, a resident of Calamba City, was in the police list for drugs.
Police said Orofil was first to fire a .38 caliber gun that triggered a shootout. Police recovered from him four sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).
In San Pablo City, Markphie Alvaran, 37, was killed in a shootout at 12:40 a.m. in Barangay San Antonio.
Matta said Alvaran had just sold undercover policemen a sachet of suspected shabu when he opened fire.
