Police nab man after running amok with sword, icepick in Parañaque
MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested a young man in Paranaque City on Thursday night after he allegedly ran amok while carrying an icepick and a 20-inch sword outside their residence.
Parañaque City Police said the 17-year-old suspect was drunk and became agitated when his elder sister received a visitor in their house.
According to police, the suspect then grabbed an ice pick and a sword before rushing outside where he started challenging his neighbors to a fight.
Police said the incident alarmed residents in the area and prompted his siblings and their 49-year-old mother to report the incident to village officials.
PO1 Michael Edgar Ramos and two village watchmen immediately responded to the area and arrested the suspect. His weapons were also confiscated.
The suspect is now under police custody as complaints for alarm and scandal and illegal possession of bladed, pointed, or blunt weapons are being prepared against him by investigators. /muf
