CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—More than 50 leaders of the No-to-Jeepney-Phase-Out Coalition and Piston Central Luzon picketed the Central Luzon office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board here at noon on Friday (Jan. 11) to protest the new developmental routes being drawn up by the agency.
Allan Bonifacio, Piston Central Luzon spokesman, said new routes are being opened to be able to “sell new vehicles and allow transport companies to take over (routes).”
An LTFRB official did not comment on Piston’s claims, saying it scheduled the Jan. 11 hearing which complies with the requirements of the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines of the Department of Transportation./lzb
