MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has started its investigation on an official of the Manila Police District (MPD) for allegedly hitting three police officers with a wooden block for supposedly not following his orders during Traslacion on Wednesday.
Radyo Inquirer earlier reported that the three rookie policemen belong to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO)
“That is being investigated, ‘yung sinasabi nila [three police officers] (what they are saying),” PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said in a press conference on Thursday.
Albayalde said PNP would also investigate the three police officers.
“Yes, of course, [they will also be investigated]. They will also be charged for non-compliance of a legal directive. Kung ikaw ay sinabihan ka ng commander mo at ito ang gagawin mo, [if they say] ito ang gawin mong duty, and hindi ka sumunod, you will also be charged,” he explained.
“That’s a legal order, [a] legal directive,” he added.
According to Albayalde, results of the medical examination on the three police officers showed they sustained bruises on their hands.
The PNP chief said the police officers might also file a case of physical injury against the MPD official. /kga/ac
