31,000 workers regularized in Central Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The Department of Labor and Employment on Thursday (Jan. 10) said 272 companies based in Central Luzon have regularized 31,005 employees.

DOLE Central Luzon director  Zenaida Angara-Campita, said in a report that 174 of these companies voluntarily complied with the government’s policy against illegal contracting schemes.

Following DOLE inspections, 98 establishments have upgraded the status of 11,845 workers to regular employees, she said. TONETTE OREJAS/lzb
