Cotabato City blast suspects charged
MANILA, Philippines – The Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) formed by the police has filed charges against two suspects in the deadly South Seas Mall blast in Cotabato City.
Suspects Salipudin Lauban Pasandalan and a certain Saed Nur Kasim were charged with two counts of murder and 34 counts of frustrated murder before the Office of the Prosecutor in Cotabato City on Wednesday, police said.
Police earlier said Pasandalan surrendered to authorities for fear of his life, after he was tagged in the December 31 blast that left two people dead and 34 others wounded.
Kasim is still at large as of this posting, the Soccsksargen police reported on Thursday.
Chief Supt. Eliseo Rasco, Soccsksargen regional police chief, said a minimum of eight suspects are being eyed. /gsg
