Engineer slain inside van in Maguindanao town

PAGALUNGAN, MAGUINDANAO – An unidentified gunman shot dead an engineer inside a passenger van heading to Kabacan town, North Cotabato province Tuesday afternoon.

Engr. Mustapha Andoy, 45, who works for the local government of Pagalungan, was onboard a passenger van on his way to his boarding house in nearby Kabacan town around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the victim’s brother, Kadjack Andoy, chairperson of Barangay Tunggol, Datu Montawal town.

The van was traversing the national highway in Tunggol when the suspect, also a passenger, stopped the van, telling its driver, he had to disembark.

While alighting from the van, the suspect shot Andoy in the head and fled on board a waiting motorbike.

The victim died on the spot. He was buried shortly before nightfall Tuesday./lzb
