MANILA, Philippines — The number of devotees in this year’s Traslacion was estimated to have reached close to 450,000 by noon Wednesday as the procession of the image of Black Nazarene approached Escolta, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said.

Police said around 335,000 joined the procession while approximately 105,000 devotees were waiting at Quiapo Church for the arrival of the religious image, believed to grant miracles to the faithful.

Meanwhile, situation at Quirino Grandstand has returned to “normal,” according to NCRPO, as Roxas Blvd. has already been declared “passable,” as of this posting.
